About "I Flew With Heroes"

In 1969-70, the USAF had over 500 crewmen held captive in N.V. and Laos. The need for a better combat rescue helicopter led to the development of the Sikorsky HH-53-Super Jolly Green and Lt. Col Waldron was trained on this very helicopter. He began flying resue missions in Thailand at Udorn and Nakon Phanon. On Novemeber 20-21 1970, Lt. Col Waldron and his Jolly Green Giant flew on the raid of the Son Tay POW camp. This book covers those missions.
